Camping can be an enjoyable outing whether alone, or with friends and family. Some preparation is necessary, and a few skills and equipment are required for spending time without the luxuries of civilization.
Simply put, basic camping, is sleeping in a tent outdoors. Camping in a motor home or enclosed camper is still camping, but it is not the same experience as sleeping outside, or in a tent.
